More pictures

Here are some more pictures of Thanksgiving in Florida. Jyly, Aubrey, Keegan and Daddy went to Grammy's house while Mommy stayed in Texas with the foster children.

OK, so Melanie called me out!

I have to apologize for being so far behind on my blog. Things have been crazy since we moved to the ranch. Within a few short weeks of moving in, we got our three foster children who are 2 1/2, 3 1/2, and 4 1/2. Less than a month after that, we were off to Korea to bring Aubrey home. Once we get through the holidays, life short calm down a bit. Here are a few pictures of Jyly from right after Aubrey got home and Jyly's 4th birthday. I will post more picture in the next few days. Jeremy took the girls and Keegan to Florida for Thanksgiving so I have all those pictures but they won't be home until tomorrow night.

Just a little back story on Melanie. She met Jyly before I did and her little girl Bella, also from Kyrgyzstan, just turned 4 on the 25th.

We have been absent for a little while because we have been very busy. Over the past 2 1/2 months, we have been training for our foster care license. Then 2 weeks ago, we moved over to Midland to High Sky Children's Ranch . The final goal here will be achieved on Tuesday when we make the final transition of 3 siblings. They are 2, 3 and 4 years old and I have already spent a lot of time with them. Jyly is not to sure about sharing toys or ME with them but she is adjusting. The big house, playground in the side yard, loads of land and three horses are making the transition a little easier. By the way, the house is known as the CASA house!

Endangered Species

We spent several hours today at Alex's house. Well, the house that he is buying. The grass (or should I say weeds) was very tall. Also, the yard was full of glass and construction debris that the builder had no intention of cleaning up. So we took rakes, a weed whacker, gloves and a garbage can and cleaned up the front and back yard. While I was sweeping by the front door, I found a horny toad. Jeremy picked it up and let Jyly hold it. It was fine until it moved. Then she tossed it.

Kids Say The Darndest Things!

Last night, Jyly was sitting on her bed reading a book. She then picked the book and held it close to her face. What happened next completely surprised me. She sniffed the book and exclaimed "smells like bum". It was one of those moments that you are dying laughing inside but you can't show her that what she said was funny. If she thinks it's funny, you never know when or where she might say it again. So now the question in my mind is, where did she come up with that!

Making A Splash At Balmorhea

I caught Keegan mid splash!

Juan must have jumped up first because I caught him in the air.

Jyly decided to try swimming without the swim tube for awhile.

We spent Memorial Day at Balmorhea State Park. They had just cleaned the pool so it was crystal clear. I don't think the fish liked how clean it was because they were nibbling on Jyly and Krista's toes. The kids had a great time and we left just before the rain and hail.

This is obviously a bit late since we just completed our 18 month post placement report.

This is how we wash the truck

No, they didn't use her as a sponge!

Mother's Day At The Park

The boys decided that we should go to the park today. Alex had to work so he couldn't join us but Juan could. We call Juan Jyly's brother from another mother because she always has to know where Juan is. We all had fun. I had to pull rank as the mother. Being Texas, the slides were all really hot. So, I made the boys hold Jyly on the slides. Long shorts rule!

While in New hampshire

Jyly and I went up to NH the beginning of March to visit family. While we were there, we were able to get together with two of Jyly's friend's from her orphanage in Tokmok. Because they spent every moment of their early lives together, they are more like siblings. Beck was the first of the three to arrive home in NH in September 2007. Then Jyly in January of 2008 and Aidai in October 2008. Jyly doesn't seem to have any memories of her time in Tokmok because she was so young but she still had a great time playing with Beck and Aidai.

Hey! What happened to Easter?

I know Easter was a few weeks ago and "Yes" we did go on an easter egg hunt but the video was MIA. Jeremy had it on his camera and his computer. He couldn't get it to send to me. He finally put it on a memory stick and now I'm going to try to show it to you. Cross your fingers! Well it's a no go. For some reason, we just can't get the video to load. So as to not have angry mobs, I will show you the picture of Jyly and Camden before the prom. By the way, Jyly had a great time at the Easter egg hunt.

Jyly's trip to Florida

In January, Jeremy had to go to Orlando on business so we decided that he would take Jyly. While he was working she stayed with my mother in-law. The first weekend he was there, he took Jyly to Animal Kingdom. She had a great time! She got a first trip to Disney pin and the flight attendants on the plane let her help out on the flight home.

A fun filled day at Animal Kingdom wore her right out!

Jyly, Daddy, and Pooh.

Big hugs for Pooh! No fear here.

Jyly's First Christmas!

Look at that Elvis snarl. She loves to get into the act! The first thing she did was run to her new kitchen. Jyly got lots of food for her new kitchen.
